About Me

Retiring after almost 45 years of nursing, the last 16 as a nurse practitioner, I discovered I love the longarm quilting process and have been doing it for family, friends, and for charity.

I learned to sew in a middle school Home Economics class on my mother’s featherweight Singer sewing machine and have been sewing on and off for the past 60 years. In the beginning I made clothes, coats, hats, accessories. In 1996 after a sewing hiatus, I revived and augmented my sewing skills with home décor, machine embroidery, machine appliqué.

Then I pieced my first quilt and attempted to quilt it on a sewing machine. Shortly after, I bought my first quilting short arm (16” throat) machine and frame. A succession of upgrades of machines, frames, and quilting software followed to what I have now. While I enjoy designing and piecing together my quilts, I love the process of designing and quilting with my longarm more!
